First Aid Training for Parents of Teenagers (TPOT) – a Randomized Controlled Trial

Thank you to everyone who has participated or shared information about the project to help promote it. We are still running the free courses till the end of June 2016 for anyone who has already signed up.
Welcome to TPOT, which offers FREE training to parents who have a teenager aged between 12-15 years. Although it was initially offered only in Victoria, from 2015 it will be offered at various locations across Australia. The training is aimed at helping parents recognize and respond to emerging mental disorders or physical health problems in teenagers.
FREE training will be offered to parents in either:
|14-hour Youth Mental Health First Aid course||OR||15-hour AFA311A Australian Red Cross Provide First Aid course
(previously known as HLTFA301B)
a 14-hour Youth Mental Health First Aid course
a 15-hour AFA301C Australian Red Cross Apply First Aid course (previously known as HLTFA301B)
- A computer will randomly place parents into ONE of those courses.
- there is no requirement for your teenager to have a physical or mental health problem in order to take part.
